Pixels: enter a width, a height or both — with Keep aspect ratio on, the image is never stretched. File size: the tool picks the best quality that fits, and only makes the image smaller in pixels if it has to. For the sharpest result under a size limit, save as JPG.

About the Image Resizer

Photos from phones and cameras are often far larger than you need — too big to upload to a form, attach to an email or put on a website. The Image Resizer by Each Convert changes the width and height of JPG, PNG and WebP images in seconds. It uses the Lanczos3 resampling filter from Google's Squoosh project, so resized photos stay crisp, and it keeps each photo's color profile and orientation.

How to Resize an Image

  1. Drop your images into the box above, or click it to choose files.
  2. Choose Pixels and enter a width and/or height, Percentage to scale it, or File size (KB) to fit an upload limit.
  3. Keep the original format or pick JPG, PNG or WebP.
  4. Press Resize Images, then download each image or use Download All.

Common Image Sizes

  • Website images — 1200–1920 px wide is plenty for most pages.
  • Instagram post — 1080 × 1080 px (square) or 1080 × 1350 px (portrait).
  • Facebook / LinkedIn link preview — 1200 × 630 px.
  • YouTube thumbnail — 1280 × 720 px.
  • Email attachments and forms — 1000–1600 px wide usually keeps files small.

To get an exact shape like 1080 × 1080 from a photo with a different shape, turn off Keep aspect ratio — or work out matching sizes first with our Aspect Ratio Calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are resized entirely inside your browser using open-source image codecs compiled to WebAssembly. Your photos never leave your device.

Will resizing make my image blurry?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: the tool uses the high-quality Lanczos3 filter and works in linear light, like professional photo editors. Making an image much larger than its original size cannot add detail, so enlarged images look softer.

What does "Keep aspect ratio" do?

It stops the image from being stretched or squashed. Enter just a width or a height and the other side is calculated for you. If you enter both, the image is resized to fit inside that box without distortion.

How do I reduce a photo to 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB?

Choose File size (KB), type the limit or tap a preset such as 50 KB, and press Resize Images. The tool finds the highest quality that fits under the limit and only reduces the pixel size if the quality alone isn't enough. Images already under the limit are left untouched.

Can I resize several images at once?

Yes. Drop as many images as you like and the same size settings are applied to all of them. Each image can be up to 200 MB and 100 megapixels.

Can I change the format while resizing?

Yes. Keep each image's original format, or save the resized images as JPG, PNG or WebP.
