GIF Resizer

Make an animated GIF smaller or larger without losing the animation. Every frame, its speed and transparency are kept — free, no watermark, and your GIF never leaves your device.

About the GIF Resizer

A normal image resizer only keeps the first frame of an animated GIF. The GIF Resizer by Each Convert resizes every frame and keeps each frame's timing, the loop setting and any transparency, so the new GIF plays exactly like the original — just at the size you need for a chat, a forum avatar, an emoji, a website or an email. Everything happens inside your browser, so your GIF stays private.

How to Resize a GIF

  1. Drop your GIF into the box above, or click it to choose one.
  2. Type a new width or height, pick a common size, or switch to Percentage.
  3. Press Resize GIF, check the preview, then Download GIF.

Tips for Resizing GIFs

  • Smaller file — half the width makes a GIF roughly four times smaller.
  • Emoji and stickers — Discord emoji are 128 × 128 px, and many chat stickers are 320 or 512 px wide.
  • Keep aspect ratio on, so the animation is never stretched.
  • Transparent GIFs — pick the colour of the page the GIF will sit on, so resized edges blend in cleanly.
  • Need a GIF first? Make one from a clip with Video to GIF or from pictures with the GIF Maker.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are my GIFs uploaded to a server?

No. The GIF is resized entirely inside your browser. It never leaves your device, so the tool is safe for private GIFs.

Does the animation keep its speed?

Yes. Every frame is kept with its own timing, so the resized GIF plays exactly as fast as the original. The loop setting is kept too, and you can change it.

Will a transparent GIF stay transparent?

Yes. Transparent GIFs are detected automatically and stay see-through. GIF has no half-transparent pixels, so the soft edges made by resizing are blended into the background colour you pick.

How do I make the GIF file smaller?

Choose a smaller width — half the width makes the file roughly four times smaller. Fewer colours (128 or 64) and switching off Smooth colours save a little more.

What size GIF can I resize?

GIF files up to 200 MB with up to 3,000 frames. The new GIF can be up to 4,000 pixels on its longest side. Very large GIFs need a computer; a phone may run out of memory.
